Gas Tax Honesty Day hits the streets of NB

Once again, NBers are being hosed at the pumps, although roadway spending has substantially increased

They're suggesting a 5 cent cut? You don't think oil companies could bump the price up 5 cents right after you deducted the 5 cents in tax.? Only then it would go to their shareholders rather than to taxpayers.
I'd suggest the opposite. Have an increasingly punitive tax that discouraged oil companies from raising the pump price so high and instead forced true competition amongst themselves.

Yeah, it's good you don't have Rodney MacDonald admitted as a premier who complains about the rising cost of gasoline and how it would have an effect on government operations because departmental estimates for the spring budget were based on gasoline at $1.20 cents a litre. What about the people who have been getting gouged the highest of any eastern province? (since he returned to office last summer)
