Schreiber the prevaricator

Schreiber's very smart lawyers turned this forum (the parliamentary ethics committee) into a pseudo "three questions" Monte Python sketch (see 1 minute mark).

In other words, if the questions weren't what is your name, favorite color or hockey team, etc. --- from all members of the ethics committee --- then you got a swift "I defer" or "I have nothing more to say now" from Karlheinz.

Methinks we would have been better off as Canadians and taxpayers if we had just sidestepped this committe (and a possible inquiry) and cast him into the gorge of eternal peril.

Translation: extradite the bastard!

You can't help but wonder why the "loyal opposition" places so much stock in innuendo from:

1. a man who has been charged with tax evasion bribery and fraud.
2. dedicated Taliban prisoners in Afghanistan who claim that they have been tortured.

Seems to me that the object of both has a lot less to do with any form of "justice" than it does playing political games in the three ring media circus of popular opinion.

Stop the planet... I want off.

Agreed. This guy has no credibility whatsoever. And furthermore, not sure what Harper's government has to do with any of this corruption? Get a grip, Mulroney was PM five prime ministers ago.

Good points guys. Another thing that struck me about the committee was the nature of the questioning, especially by Mulclaire. His accusations regarding Marc Lalonde were McCarthyist to say the least as he was never charged with a crime in his dealing with Schreiber. That's unless lobbying is a crime.

Furthermore, the chair of the committee, Paul Szabo, made a mockery of the proceedings by losing control early. Hopefully, he can get it together next tuesday or it will be another wasted effort.

Schreiber changes his story more than Multiple Choice Mitt Romney does on positions.
