Ottawa's surplus hits $8.7-billion

This is definitely no surprise. However, on the bright side, I guess there is absolutely no conceivable reason now why the Harper conservatives can't offer up broad-based personal and corporate tax relief for Canadians. Not that I haven't been calling for this time and time again in the past. Although, I have a hunch we may see another wave of pre-election spending by this group of so-called [fiscal] tories.

Isn't it always funny to see how the government takes credit for the work canadians do?

My only wish is that we have managers of the purse that will put policies in place that will allow the economy to grow via the market, thus putting more people to work outside government and hopefully leaving more of that hard-earned money in the pockets of those who earn it.

In Atlantic Canada, we have the exact oppsosite of the above.

Just like they were seriously thinking about making income splitting a reality. I won't be holding my breath.
